Celebrating the Legacy of Bl. Basile Moreau: 150th Anniversary Concludes with Grand Ceremony in Agartala
The
concluding celebration of the 150th anniversary of Blessed Basile
Moreau's entry into eternal life was held on 7th June 2024 at
Agartala. The event, which drew a crowd of around 500 participants marked the
culmination of a year-long series of activities aimed at fostering spiritual
renewal and promoting the life and legacy of Bl. Moreau.
The
main celebrant of the Eucharist was Most Rev. Joachim Walder, Auxiliary Bishop
of Aizwal, who led the concelebration alongside 45 priests. The solemn Mass was
a fitting tribute to the founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross, reflecting
his enduring influence and spiritual legacy.
A highlight of the program was a short presentation by seminarians from the Sacred Heart Study House and St. Andre Minor Seminary. The presentation showcased the inspiring journey and contributions of Bl. Basile Moreau, emphasizing his mission to "make God known, loved, and served."
In recognition of their many years of exceptional service, the Spirit of Holy Cross Award was conferred on four dedicated catechists. These individuals were honoured for their unwavering dedication and steadfast commitment to the mission of the Holy Cross.
Additionally, a collection of articles on the life and legacy of Bl. Moreau was released, providing a comprehensive look at his significant impact on the community.
As the event concluded, heartfelt thanks were extended to every confrere for their support and collaboration throughout the year, ensuring the success of these commemorative activities.
The celebration not only honoured the memory of Bl. Basile Moreau but also reinvigorated the spirit and mission of the Congregation of Holy Cross.
