TIDINGS FROM ST. PAUL'S PARISH, KUMARGHAT
Parish Feast was
celebrated on 1st July 18. The parishioners were spiritually
prepared for the Feast through a 9-day Novena to St. Paul in their own
villages. The wonderful weather we had on the Feast Day {without rain} made us
feel the presence of the Lord. The Feast day program began with the hoisting of
the Parish-flag by Rt. Rev. Lumen Monteiro csc {Bishop: Diocese of Agartala},
who also presided over the Festive Eucharist, which was concelebrated by many
priests from nearby parishes. The faithful devotionally participated in the Eucharistic
Procession, which was led by Rev. Davis K csc with an inspiring homily. Rev.
Aneesh M csc warmly welcomed the Shepherd and the flock during the formal
cultural program, which was colourful and enchanting. Bp. Lumen, in his
message, appreciated the unity among the parishioners; and officially
inaugurated the year-long celebration of the Golden-Jubilee Year, which will
culminate on the Parish Feast in 2019. The Celebration of the Parish Feast
ended with a fellowship meal.
Four-in-One Celebration: Our
Mission Centre witnessed a multiple celebration on 3rd June 18. The Parish Community celebrated the
Golden Jubilee of the Religious Profession of Sr. Pushpa MC. She was honoured
and felicitated on Her-Day, as she
shared her religious experiences with the people: how she had a close
relationship with St. Teresa of Calcutta, and how it helped her to live a
fervent Religious Life during her 50-yrs in the Congregation.
Sr.
Ventura FS celebrated her birthday with Parishioners. She was the Superior
General for the Fatima Sisters for many years. The Parish community wished her
many more years of Fruitful Ministry in the parish.
Sr.
Himani FS & Sr. Rahel FS were given fitting Farewell for their committed
service to the Mission. Sr. Himani was the Headmistress in the School. Sr.
Rahel actively involved in the parish programs. Gratefully acknowledging their
ministerial service to the Parish Community, the parishioners offered their
wishes and prayers for their new Ministerial assignments.
The

their arrival here with a new assignment. The community assured them of its
prayers for their fruitful ministry in the parish.
