Priestly Ordination of Fr Gabriel Darlong, CSC
Deacon Gabriel Darlong, CSC was ordained priest by Most Rev Lumen Monteiro, CSC, DD, the Bishop of Agartala at Holy Cross School premises in Kathalcherra on the 12 December, 2015. The ordination ceremony began with the procession from the Presbytery to the ordination venue led by a school band followed by Deacon Gabriel who was accompanied by his mother and uncle and about 50 priests and the Bishop behind him making a long colourful procession towards the venue.
The ordination ceremony was coordinated by Fr Iswar CSC and there were hundreds of faithful representing various parishes of the diocese. During the homily, the Bishop exhorted the faithful to be generous in offering their children for the service of God and encouraged them to stand for Christ in any circumstances and situation as Christian.
After the ordination ceremony, there was short felicitation program of the newly ordained priest followed by meal prepared for all. Everyone enjoyed to their full.
