NESNIM 2024 ( North Eastern Students National Integration Movement)
The North Eastern Students National Integration Movement (NESNIM) 2024, organized by the Holy Cross Educational Foundation, brought together 600 students and 100 animators from 29 schools across Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Tripura for a three-day event from 9th october to 11th October 2024. Originally conceived as a peace initiative, NESNIM has evolved with the changing circumstances of the region, but its core mission of fostering unity, understanding, and leadership among students remains unchanged. This year’s theme, "SMARTeens" (Strong, Mindful, Adventurous, Resilient Teens), emphasized qualities essential for young people today, particularly as they face growing stress and pressures in their academic and social lives. The event was inaugurated by Shri Aimesh Debbarma, Hon'ble Minister of Forests; Science, Technology, and Environment, Government of Tripura, who was the chief guest. His presence and words of encouragement greatly inspired the participants. Throughout the event, students engaged in a range of activities and sessions aimed at developing these qualities, including leadership workshops, mindfulness training, and adventurous challenges. The focus on mental wellness was a central aspect of the program, helping students learn valuable strategies to manage stress and anxiety. By the end of the program, participants had forged strong connections, gained insights from each other, and grown as individuals, better equipped to become responsible citizens and future leaders. NESNIM 2024 continues to serve as a vital platform for students to appreciate diversity, learn from different perspectives, and contribute to the well-being of society.
