Inter Schools Football Tournament:
�Celestine Memorial Inter-school
Football Tournament� for boys and Basket Ball Tournament for girls was
organized by Good Shepherd Hr. Sec. School, Jongksha, on May 13, 2016. Eight Schools participated in the tournament.
The tournament was inaugurated by Shri. Olet Kharsahnoh, the headman of Jongksha
Village. Both the trophies were won by
Good Shepherd, Jongksha, Shri. Nitin Saxena,
branch manager of SBI, Jongksha, gave away the trophies and certificates to
winners and runners up respectively.
Congratulations to all the winners.Parents' Day celebrations:
Good Shepherd Hr.
Sec. School, Jongksha celebrated Parents' Day on April 21, 2016. Mr. Vincent H.
Pala, the honorable MP of Shillong was the Chief Guest. Shri. Remington Pyngrope, the honorable local
MLA graced the occasion as the Guest of the honor. Parents and Guests were entertained by the
students with their various performances.
IGNITE, the school magazine for 2016 was released during the
occasion. At the end of the programme
the chief guest laid the foundation stone for the school extension.
Marian Procession:
A Marian Procession
was organized on May 29th at Good Shepherd Parish Church. The day began with the Eucharist, presided
over by Rev. Fr. Aneesh Mathew, CSC.
After mass, about 2000 faithful gathered in front of the grotto to pay
homage to Mother Mary followed by a procession with beautifully decorated statue
of Mother Mary. It was a special occasion for the faithful to pray through the
intercession of Mother Mary.
Leadership Seminar for villages:
A one day seminar was
organized for the Rangbah balang and other village leaders of the parish on
18th June. Fr. Francis Kharpran,
director of KBB was the resource person for the seminar. The talk was based on the recently published
manual for the village leaders. It was
very informative as well as inspiring for all those who attended. �We got a better insight into our roles and
responsibilities in the context of imparting spiritual leadership to our
people,� was one of the comments heard from the participants. About 80 people participated in the seminar.
